Re-Opening Task Force Updates
The Task Force met on November 29 and voted unanimously to make the following changes to Mt. Bethel COVID policy:
- Allow small group meetings in main facility, following same social distancing and masking requirements as worship. We will invite AA back to its Tuesday and Friday night meetings, starting ASAP. Youth House remains closed due to foundation disrepair, so NA will not meet on Sundays.
- Adult Sunday School classes, committees, and Session can elect to schedule meetings in the facility or on Zoom.
- Room scheduling should be done through the Staff Specialist in the office. Remember, the size of the room should accommodate social distancing for the number of people in the meeting.
The Task Force is hopeful that even with the new omicron variant, vaccination rates and continued masking and social distancing will allow us to approach a higher level of in-person activity. Plans continue to be made to allow SHINE and other children’s programs to meet in person after the start of the new year. Please, everyone who can safely get vaccinated, do so at the first opportunity. If you haven’t gotten your booster and you are eligible, please do so. And don’t forget the flu shot if it is safe for you to get one! Thanks to everyone who’s helping to pull Mt. Bethel through this extraordinary time.
